In May of 2017, Jason Funes joined the U.S. Department of Interior (DOI) as a Special Assistant in the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs (OIEA) in the immediate Office of the Secretary. OIEA strengthens relationships between state and local partners and external stakeholders with the Office of the Secretary. OIEA also serves as liaison for governmental and non-governmental partners in communicating with DOI offices and Bureaus.
In order to achieve the Secretary’s priorities, Jason partners with public policy groups, energy associations, state officials, and other external stakeholders to improve management of our federal lands and achieve American energy dominance.
Jason was born in New York, grew up in Florida, served as a member of the Donald J. Trump Presidential campaign in 2016 and plays hockey and rugby in his spare time.
